(a) When a written application for licensure is approved and a building is ready for occupancy, a survey of the facility by representatives of the Department's Division of Health Facility Survey and Field Operations shall be conducted to determine if the facility complies with the rules in this chapter.

1. The Department shall notify in writing the licensed operator of a facility of the findings of the survey, including any deficiencies found.

2. The facility shall notify the Department's Division of Health Facility Survey and Field Operations when the deficiencies, if any, have been corrected, and the Division of Health Facility Survey and Field Operations shall schedule one or more resurveys of the facility prior to occupancy and licensure.

(b) Survey visits may be made to a facility at any time by authorized staff of the Department. Such visits may include, but not be limited to, the review of all facility documents and resident records and conferences with residents.
