Section 7:14A-23.30 - Mechanical dewatering of residuals

(a) For installations where residuals are mechanically dewatered, mechanical dewatering equipment shall be provided in duplicate unless nuisance-free storage of residuals is provided in a manner approved by the Department.
1. Duplicate installation shall include
duplicate conditioning equipment, conveyors, feeders and other
appurtenances.
2. Capacity shall be
sufficient to process the residuals generated to prevent any day-to-day
accumulation.
3. The engineer's
report shall include complete data on capacity, residual volume to be handled,
conditioning methods, and equipment, chemical storage and satisfactory
management of residual cake.
4. The
plans shall show provisions for housing the dewatering equipment, for
ventilation and odor control, for handling and/or loading the residual cake and
the area and method proposed for ultimate management.
5. Filtrate collection and treatment shall be
provided and indicated.
