(a) Pursuant to State travel guidelines as established by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Office of Management and Budget, and presented in the OMB Travel Circulars:
1. All travel shall follow the most direct,
economical, and usually traveled route. Travel by other routes as a result of
official necessity shall be eligible for payment or reimbursement only if
satisfactorily established in advance of such travel.
2. If a person travels by indirect route for
personal convenience, the extra expense shall be borne by the
individual.
3. Reimbursement for
expenses shall be based only on charges that do not exceed what would have been
incurred by using the most direct, economical, and usually traveled
route.
