(a) Examinations shall be administered by the Office of Training and Certification to establish eligibility for certification as a fire investigator.
1. Applicants for
fire investigator certification shall demonstrate competence by successful
completion of a fire investigator written and skills examination, with a
minimum passing score of 80 percent correct.
i. Only examination results passed within
three years prior to, or at the time of, application shall be accepted toward
fulfilling the examination requirements of the fire investigator certification.
(A) The exception to this provision shall be
5:73-18.2(a)7.
2. An applicant who fails the fire
investigator examination during three attempts shall be required to retake the
Basic Fire Investigation program of instruction.
