Section 18:27-2.12 - Owners as shareholders of cooperative or mutual housing corporations

Tenant shareholders in cooperatives or mutual housing corporations have been declared "owners" of the units based on his or her proportionate share of the taxable value of the real property pursuant to his or her interests in said associations or corporations. Tenant shareholders in cooperatives are entitled to the deduction based on his or her proportionate share of taxes assessed against the real property pursuant to the New Jersey Constitution, Art. 8, Sec. 1, Par. 3 and N.J.S.A. 54:4-8.1 5 and 8.18.
