(a) All disability retirants under the age of 60 may be required to undergo a medical examination each year for a maximum period of five years by a physician designated by the Fund as of the anniversary date of their retirement, unless such examination requirement has been waived by the Board.

(b) Failure on the part of a retirant to submit to the required medical examination shall result in the automatic suspension of the retirant's retirement allowance until the retirant submits to a medical examination.
