Section 16:53A-4.1 - Evidence of insurance; New Jersey companies

(a) For New Jersey companies operating intrastate pursuant to Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity issued by the Commission or interstate pursuant to Federal authority issued by the ICC or its successor agency, the USDOT, Federal Highway Administration, satisfactory evidence of appropriate insurance shall consist of:

1. A Form E, "Uniform Motor Carrier Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability Certificate of Insurance" filing with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, Commercial Bus Inspection Unit, pursuant to 48:4-19, 48:4-35 through 48:4-55, and 16:53-9.1; and

2. A Form F, "Uniform Motor Carrier Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability Insurance Endorsement" filing with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, Commercial Bus Inspection Unit, pursuant to 48:4-19, 48:4-35 through 48:4-55, and 16:53-9.1. In addition, every bus and autobus driver must have in his or her possession a valid insurance identification card for the vehicle.
