(a) A transverse seat space of not less than 15 inches shall be provided for each passenger on seats having multiple seating positions. Single seats shall provide a transverse seat space of not less than 19 inches. Seats shall have unobstructed kneeroom of not less than seven inches across the full width of the seat.

(b) Seats shall be of substantial construction and securely mounted to the floor and/or sides.

(c) Portable seats and seats not securely and permanently mounted to the floor are prohibited.

(d) The total number of passengers shall not exceed the capacity of the special autobus-type recreational vehicle as specified by the manufacturer or the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission's rated seating capacity as designated on the Commission's certificate of compliance.

(e) A tour guide seat may be installed to the right of the center aisle, provided that such seat shall not be occupied by a person other than an employee of the autobus company. The tour guide seat shall be equipped with a seat belt.
