The following words and terms, as used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Additional definitions that apply to this subchapter can be found at 14:3-1.1 and 14:4-1.2.
"Energy public utility" means a public utility, as defined at 14:3-1.1, that provides electricity or natural gas. This term does not include a subsidiary or affiliate of a public utility, nor does it include a municipal public utility.
"Energy service company" or "ESCO" means a company that provides energy efficiency and load management equipment and/or services to energy customers.
