Section 13:95-15.20 - Filing fee for civil action or proceeding in State court

(a) If a juvenile files an action or proceeding in any court of this State, including an appeal from an administrative decision of the State Parole Board or the Commission, the juvenile may request a waiver of filing fees on the grounds of indigency. Pursuant to 30:4-16.3, a request for waiver of the filing fee shall include a certified copy of the juvenile's fund account statement for the six months immediately preceding the filing of the complaint or petition.

(b) A juvenile shall obtain a certified copy of his or her juvenile's account statement by submitting a written request to the secure facility's Business Manager or designee. The Business Manager or designee shall provide the trust fund account statement in a timely manner.

(c) The Business Manager or designee shall process payment from the juvenile's account for any filing fee or partial filing fee in accordance with 30:4-16.3 and the terms of the court order.
