Section 13:90A-5.3 - Time limit for filing a claim

(a) It shall be the juvenile's responsibility to initiate a claim by completing Form J943 I Juvenile Claim for Lost, Damaged or Destroyed Personal Property within 15 calendar days of the incident or discovery of the incident.

(b) Unless the Executive Director or designee determines that there are exceptional circumstances that require extending the investigative process, the Executive Director or designee shall submit Form J943 III and all other documents required by 13:90A-5.1(i) to the Chief Fiscal Officer within 30 calendar days from the date the juvenile filed the claim.
