Section 13:62-4.27 - Fire suppression system

(a) A fire suppression system is mandatory for all divisions, except for the exemptions at (a)1 below. All systems must meet or exceed SFI 17.1 specifications.

1. Exemptions: slingshots, quarter midgets, and go-karts.

(b) TQ, 270, and 600 Micro Sprint competitors are required to have a 2.5-pound fire suppression system with one nozzle directed to the driver's compartment.

(c) All open wheel divisions, including SpeedSTR, 305, 360, and 410 sprint cars will need, at a minimum, a five-pound fire suppression system with one nozzle directed to the driver's compartment.

(d) Legend competitors will need, at a minimum, a five-pound fire suppression system with one nozzle directed to the driver's compartment.

(e) All other divisions not specified in this section will need, at a minimum, a 10-pound fire suppression system with two nozzles, one nozzle to the driver's compartment and a second nozzle to either the engine or fuel cell.
