Section 13:62-4.25 - Drivers

(a) All drivers shall be at least 17 years of age, except that:

1. Licensees may permit drivers 16 years of age to operate in events utilizing full-sized vehicles restricted to 400 hp or less, provided they have satisfied the skill and experience requirements of the licensee.

(b) All drivers are required to wear a multilayer fire-retardant suit, meeting a minimum SFI Specification 3.2A/5 or FIA Specifications 8856-2018, which are both incorporated herein by reference, as amended and supplemented, and covers the body to the neck, wrists, and ankles. If a driver has a suit not meeting the above specifications, the driver will be required to wear fire retardant underwear with the suit to be compliant. Nylon covered fire suits are prohibited.

(c) All drivers are required to wear fire resistant gloves.

(d) All drivers are required to wear fire resistant shoes and socks.
