Section 13:47A-14.2 - Information obtained during the course of private investigations

Information or documents obtained by the Bureau in the course of any private investigation, unless such information or documents are published by the Bureau pursuant to its authority under 49:3-68(a), shall be deemed non-public. Such information and documents may be disclosed to representatives of domestic or foreign governmental authorities, self-regulatory agencies, state or federal law enforcement officers, state securities law administrators, special counsels, court appointed receivers and trustees in bankruptcy. The Bureau may also, to the extent necessary, disclose such information and documents in court proceedings; when ordered to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction; or, when appropriate, in furtherance of any ongoing investigation or proceeding.
