Section 13:36-3.7 - Practical examination requirements

(a) No candidate shall be given the practical examination until after he or she has successfully completed the written examinations prescribed under 45:7-49. The practical examination shall be taken no sooner than 90 days before, or no later than 90 days after, completion of the prescribed period of internship.
(b) A candidate wishing to take the practical examination more than 90 days after the completion of the internship period at the same funeral establishment where the candidate completed his or her internship shall apply to the Board for an extension of the internship prior to taking the practical examination.
(c) A candidate wishing to take the practical examination more than 90 days after the completion of the internship period at a funeral establishment other than the one where the candidate completed his or her internship shall re-register as an intern and shall pay the intern registration fee set forth at 13:36-1.6.
(d) Such practical examination shall be held at a place determined by the Board and the examination shall be conducted by one or more Board members. A candidate who has failed the practical examination shall wait 30 days before being scheduled for re-examination.
