Section 13:24-8.1 - Identification card (permit) eligibility

An active member in good standing of a county or municipal volunteer Office of Emergency Management whose official duties include responding to a fire or emergency call may mount and operate a blue emergency warning light or lights on a motor vehicle operated by that member if he or she has been issued an identification card (permit) for such light or lights pursuant to this subchapter and is in compliance with the provisions of this subchapter. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:3-54.1 1(b), identification cards issued pursuant to this subchapter shall be considered permits to mount and operate blue emergency warning lights, and are, therefore, referenced as "identification cards (permits)."
