Section 13:1E-2.7 - Failure to respond

Except as provided in 13:1E-2.8 or 2.9, if the custodian of records fails to grant or deny a completed request within seven business days after receiving the request or such additional time as may be allowed by law, this subchapter, or as may be agreed to by the requester, the failure to respond shall be deemed a denial of the request, unless the requester has elected not to provide a name, address, telephone number, or other means of contact. If the requester has elected not to provide contact information, the custodian of records shall not be required to respond until seven business days after the requester reappears before the custodian seeking a response to the original request.
