Section 13:18-2.16 - Registration of owner-operated vehicles

(a) The owner-operator of an IRP vehicle, leasing such vehicle to a carrier, may allow the carrier to become the registrant to obtain IRP credentials (registration cab card, license plates, temporary authority and trip permit) provided:
1. The carrier provides the Commission with an
affidavit from the owner-operator authorizing the carrier to become the
registrant:
2. All credentials issued
under this arrangement remain the property of the registrant; and
3. All recordkeeping (13:18-2.21) and audit obligations
(13:18-2.22) are assumed by the
registrant.
