Section 12:185-21.8 - Design of guard rails

(a) Guard rails shall be 42 inches in height and smooth surfaced, with mid-rail between top rails and floor, and of substantial construction.

(b) Posts shall not be more than eight feet apart, are to be permanent and substantial, smooth, and free from protruding nails, bolts and splinters. If made of pipe, it shall be 1 1/4 inches inside diameter, or larger.

(c) Toeboards shall be four inches or more in height and constructed of wood, metal or of metal grill not exceeding one-inch mesh.
