(a) Fly wheels so located that any part is seven feet or less above the floor or platform shall be guarded in one of the following ways:
1. With an
enclosure of sheet, perforated or expanded metal or woven wire; or
2. With guard rails placed not less than 15 inches
from the rim.
(b) When a fly wheel extends into a pit or is within 12 inches of a floor, and a standard railing guard is used, a standard toeboard shall also be provided.
(c) When the upper rim of a fly wheel protrudes through a working floor, it shall be entirely enclosed or surrounded by a guard rail and toeboard.
