Section 11:4-16.1 - Purpose

The purpose of this regulation is to implement 17B:26-45 so as to provide reasonable standardization and simplification of language, terms and coverages to facilitate understanding and comparisons; elimination of provisions which may be misleading or unreasonably confusing in connection with either the purchase of insurance or the settlement of claims; elimination of provisions which may be contrary to the health care needs of the public; elimination of coverages which are so limited in scope as to be no substantial economic value to the holders thereof; and elimination of unfair renewal practices which are contrary to the health care needs and economic well-being of the public.
