(a) No person engaged in the business of insurance in the State of New Jersey shall refuse to issue any policy of insurance, or shall cancel or decline to renew such policy because of the sex and/or marital status of the applicant or policyholder.

(b) A contravention of the preceding subsection shall be deemed an unfair and/or deceptive practice in the conduct of the business of insurance in this State in violation of 17:29B-1 et seq. and/or 17B:30-1 et seq.

(c) This rule is to be effective September 1, 1975.
