Section 10:90-7.6 - Reporting of child abuse and neglect

County and municipal agencies are required by State law to report known or suspected instances of or risk of child abuse and neglect of a child to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Instances of abuse or neglect involve situations where a child experiences physical or mental injury, sexual abuse or exploitation or negligent treatment or maltreatment under circumstances which indicate that the childs health or welfare is threatened.
