Section 10:87-2.28 - Expedited service

(a) The following households are entitled to expedited service:

1. Households with less than $ 150.00 in monthly gross income, as computed at 10:87-6.16 provided that the household's liquid resources (for example, cash on hand, checking or savings accounts, savings certificates and lump sum payments as described at 10:87-5.9(a)11 ) do not exceed $ 100.00;

2. Migrant or seasonal farmworker households who are destitute as defined in 10:87-6.18 provided that the household's liquid resources (for example, cash on hand, checking or savings accounts, savings certificates and lump sum payments as described in 10:87-5.9(a)11 ) do not exceed $ 100.00; and

3. Eligible households whose combined monthly gross income and liquid resources are less than the household's monthly rent or mortgage and utilities. When the CWA is determining the household's utility expenses for this purpose, it shall utilize the HCSUA as set forth at 10:87-5.10(a)7 iv.

(b) The CWAs application procedures shall be designed to identify households eligible for expedited service at the time of a request for NJ SNAP assistance. The household shall be prescreened for entitlement to expedited service. For example, a receptionist, volunteer or other agency employee shall screen applications as they are filed or as individuals come in to apply.
