Subchapter 3 - EMERGENCY SAFETY INTERVENTIONS
Section 10:75-3.12 - Medical treatment for injuries resulting from the use of emergency safety interventions

(a) Staff shall immediately obtain medical treatment from qualified medical personnel for treatment of any injury sustained by any individual as a result of an emergency safety intervention.
(b) The facility shall have affiliations or written transfer agreements in effect with the closest hospitals in the area that can provide needed treatment for the resident. If possible, the facility should use Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare-participating hospitals.
(c) The agreements or affiliations shall ensure that:
(d) All injuries to the resident and the staff that occurred as a result of the safety intervention shall be recorded in the resident's record.
(e) Injuries resulting from the use of restraint or seclusion shall be considered a serious occurrence and shall be reported to all required individuals and government agencies in accordance with the requirements of 10:75-1.6.
