(a) This chapter outlines the policies and procedures relevant to the provision of psychiatric residential treatment facility services to individuals under age 21 enrolled in Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare-Plan A. The rules of this chapter also apply to children/youth/young adults enrolled with the Division of the Children's System of Care (DCSOC), whether or not they are eligible for Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare.

(b) Unless otherwise stated herein, the rules of this chapter apply to psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) services rendered to Medicaid and NJ FamilyCare beneficiaries under the Medicaid/NJ FamilyCare fee-for-service program. PRTF services which are provided by the beneficiary's selected managed care organization (MCO) are governed and administered by that MCO.
