Section 10:44C-6.9 - Heat sources

(a) Space heaters, including, but not limited to, electrical, kerosene, and quartz heaters, shall be prohibited, unless a waiver is granted by the Office of Licensing.
(b) Every home shall have heating facilities that are properly installed, maintained in good and safe working condition, and capable of maintaining all habitable rooms at a temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) when the outdoor temperature is zero degrees Fahrenheit (-18 degrees Celsius).
(c) Heat sources exceeding 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43 degrees Celsius) which are accessible to persons served requiring personal guidance shall be equipped with protective guards or insulated to prevent persons served from coming into direct contact with the heat source.
