The brake requirement rules set forth in 49 CFR 393.42 shall not apply to the towing in intrastate commerce of the following, pursuant to RSA 266:30:

(a) A motor vehicle trailer or semi-trailer with a gross weight of less than 3,000 pounds if the axle weight of the towed vehicle does not exceed 40 percent of the sum of the rated axle weights of the towing vehicle:

(b) Wood-sawing machines;

(c) Log splitters;

(d) Cement mixers;

(e) Compressors;

(f) Tar kettles;

(g) Conveyers;

(h) Devices of 2 wheels used by public utilities for the transportation of no more than 6 cables or poles;

(i) Road rollers and sweepers;

(j) Thawing devices; and

(k) Refreshment booths on wheels towed not more than 2 miles at any one time.
