(a) An operator of a vessel shall observe the following rules when encountering spar buoys on the public waters of the state:
(1) White buoy
with black top means:
a. When navigating on
an east-to-west or west-to-east course go north; or
b. When navigating on a north-to-south or
south-to-north course go east;
(2) White buoy with red top means:
a. When navigating on an east-to-west or
west-to-east course go south; or
b.
When navigating on a north-to-south or south-to-north course go west;
(3) An all black buoy means one
has to travel between it and its companion all red buoy. The all black buoy is
used together with the all red buoy to mark a well-defined channel;
and
(4) An all red buoy means one
has to travel between it and its companion all black buoy. The all red buoy is
used together with the all black buoy to mark a well-defined channel.
