(a) All glass in windshields, windows and doors shall be made of approved safety glass and mounted so that the permanent national safety institute mark is visible. The glass shall be of sufficient quality to prevent distortion of view in any direction. Each school bus with cracks or cloudiness more than 2 inches in length in the windshield or windows to the left and right of the driver shall be rejected.

(b) Each full side window shall provide an unobstructed emergency opening no less than 9 inches in height and 22 inches in width, obtained by lowering the sash. Push-out windows that hinge on top and split sash windows that slide down to open may be used.

(c) The window to the left of the driver shall comply with the manufacturer's specifications.
