"Responsible managing employee (RME)" means a certified employee of a firm overseeing the day to day operations in the particular discipline to which he/she is certified, and who is designated by each firm that plans, installs or services portable fire extinguishers, fixed fire extinguishing systems, fire sprinkler systems or fire alarm systems to assure that each system installed or serviced meets the standards as provided for by law.
