(a) An applicant for a room and board scholarship shall:
(1) Be a New Hampshire resident for
12 consecutive months preceding the date of enrollment;
(2) Be under the age of 25;
and
(3) Be the child of a
parent, either mother or father, who died while in the performance of
his or her duty as a firefighter or police officer in New Hampshire
and was a resident of New Hampshire at the time of his or her death
and whose death was found to be compensable pursuant to RSA 281-A as
verified by the head of the department for which they
worked.
(b) The scholarship shall be only used for while the student is enrolled full-time in an eligible program at a NH 2-or 4- year public institution.
