Section Pos 1701.01 - Definitions

(a) "Eligible student" means a student:

(1) Who is a legal resident of New Hampshire;

(2) Under the age of 25;

(3) Whose mother or father died while in the performance of his or her duty as a firefighter or police officer in New Hampshire; and

(4) Is enrolled as a full-time student in a program leading to a certificate, associate, or bachelor's degree at a NH public institution of higher education.

(b) "Eligible program" means a program leading to a certificate, associate or bachelor's degree.

(c) "Full-time student"means an enrolled student as defined in 34 CFR 668.

(d) "New Hampshire public institution of higher education" means a 2- or 4-year public institution that provides education to students beyond high school.

(e) "New Hampshire resident" means a resident of the state as specified by Pos 1702.

(f) "Tuition waiver" means that an eligible student shall not be required to pay tuition.
