(a) Prior to administering prescription or non-prescription medication to any camper, YRC staff shall:
(1) Complete and document
training on medication safety and administration delivered by a physician, an
APRN, an RN, or an LPN practicing under the direction of an APRN, RN, or
physician; or
(2) Successfully
complete a nationally-recognized course on medication safety and administration
having standards that are no less stringent than the Academy of Pediatrics
on-line course, Medicine Administration in Early Education and Child
Care.
(b) Health staff shall complete training in medication safety and administration every 3 years.
(c) The YRC owner shall:
(1) Maintain all documentation of training in
medication safety and administration on file; and
(2) Make such documentation available for
review by state or local health officials upon request.
