(a) American shad (Alosa sapidissima) taken by any method from tidal waters shall be immediately released back into the waters from which it was taken.
(b) No person shall transport, possess or land shad from outside the jurisdiction of the state that exceeds more than 5% of the total landing by weight per commercial trip.
