Section Fis 1101.06 - Temporary License - Active Duty Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard

(a) An applicant for a temporary license for an active duty member of the army, navy, marines, air force, or coast guard shall complete and submit the "Application for NH Fish and Game Department Temporary License Active Duty Armed Forces and Coast Guard" form, Rev. 1/2023, available at active-duty-military.pdf (nh.gov).

(b) On the form required by (a) above, the applicant shall make the following affirmation:

(1) Pursuant to RSA 214:18-b: "I certify that my privileges to fish, hunt, trap, guide, take lobsters, or engage in commercial marine fishing activities are not under suspension or revocation in any state or province, and further certify that I am aware that any conviction of certain felonies in any state or province prohibits the possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapon.";

(2) "I certify that I am a resident of the State of New Hampshire as defined in RSA 207:1, XXIII, and that I do not claim residence in any other state for any purpose."; and

(3) "I understand that this is a temporary license that shall be valid as long as I remain an active duty member stationed outside of New Hampshire.

(c) Every applicant shall also provide a copy of the following to determine if the applicant qualifies for status as a resident of New Hampshire pursuant to RSA 214:11-a and Fis 1109.12:

(1) Current military orders showing the applicant to be a resident of New Hampshire who is stationed outside of New Hampshire; or

(2) A current New Hampshire issued motor vehicle driver license or state issued non-driver photo identification card and current military orders showing the applicant is stationed outside of New Hampshire.

(d) Every applicant for a firearm hunting license shall also present written proof of completion of a hunter education safety instruction course from this or any other state or Canadian province, or a previously held firearm hunting license issued by this or any other state or Canadian province, pursuant to RSA 214:23-a, I and Fis 1109.13.

(e) The license shall expire on the occurrence of any of the following events:

(1) The applicant is no longer on active duty status in any of the named armed services;

(2) The applicant is no longer a resident of New Hampshire;

(3) The applicant is stationed by the armed services within New Hampshire; or

(4) One year from the date of issue.

(f) The applicant shall submit the above noted application and supporting documents in person or by mail to the fish and game department at 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301. If submitted to the department by mail, the applicant shall also enclose a business sized, stamped, self-addressed envelope to allow return of the license document by mail.
