Section Fam 404.02 - Requirements for Board Approval of Continuing Education Courses

To receive board approval, continuing education courses shall:
(a) Be designed to:
(1) Improve the knowledge of the mediator as
it relates to families and family law;
(2) Improve the professional competence of
the mediator; or
(3) Assure, to the
extent possible, that the mediator is equipped to work effectively within the
appropriate ethical boundaries of the profession;
(b) Be delivered:
(1) Live, to any number of
participants;
(2) By recording on
audio or video tape or disc; or
(3)
On-line;
(c) Include, as far as practicable in light of the topic(s) presented, an experiential component; and
(d) Meet the requirements of Fam 404.03 through Fam 404.06, as applicable to the presenters and the specific topic(s) covered by the courses.
