Section Env-Ws 360.12 - Required Action After Mechanical Breakdown or Other Failure of a System

(a) If the water system experiences a mechanical failure, water main break, or power failure or experiences an unexplained change in the water quality in the distribution system, the owner shall initiate one or more of the following actions, as appropriate to the situation :
(1) Disinfection;
(2) Bacterial testing;
(3) Flushing; and
(4) Public notice to consumers.
(b) The action(s) taken shall be determined by the system owner after a careful analysis of the event.
