(a) The finished grade over the bed shall:
(1) Extend for a
minimum of 3 feet horizontally beyond the bed before starting to slope;
and
(2) Be covered by 4 to 6 inches
of loam suitable for seeding.
(b) The sides of a raised EDA shall taper at a 3:1 slope, except that a slope of 2:1 may be used if necessary to maintain the side slopes on-lot or avoid an existing permanent structure.
(c) Side slopes shall be stabilized by being covered with:
(1) At least 3 inches of loam
that is seeded immediately;
(2) At
least 3 inches of bark mulch; or
(3) Other material that will prevent erosion
and lead to long-term stability of the slopes without interfering with
ventilation, such as an erosion control blanket.
