Section Env-A 1810.16 - Asbestos Inspector Certification Requirements

(a) No individual shall perform any asbestos inspections of schools in New Hampshire without first being certified as an asbestos inspector under the provisions of this chapter.
(b) The applicant shall provide, on the "Application for Certification as an Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner and/or Project Designer" form, the information required by Env-A 1810.03(b)(1) including documentation that the applicant has:
(1) Attended and completed an initial
approved training course for asbestos inspectors as outlined in Env-A
1809.03(g) and (h), with a score of 70 percent or greater on the required
written examination; and
(2) Had a
minimum of 6 months experience in a comparable occupation or 2 months field
experience under the supervision of a certified asbestos inspector or
management planner.
(c) The department shall renew an asbestos inspector certification annually provided the certificate holder:
(1) Meets
the requirements for certification renewal specified in Env-A 1810.08;
and
(2) Provides documentation on
the "Application for Certification as an Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner
and/or Project Designer" form, that the applicant has attended and completed an
approved asbestos abatement inspector review training course as outlined in
Env-A 1809.03(j), with a score of 70 percent or greater on the required written
examination.
