1. To be eligible for a license to act as a student loan servicer in this State, an applicant for such a license whose place of business is located outside this State must agree, unless the provisions of subsection 2 apply, to:
(a) Make
available to the Commissioner, at a location within this State, the books,
accounts, papers, records and files of the student loan servicer; or
(b) Pay the reasonable expenses for the
travel, meals and lodging of the Commissioner that are incurred during any
investigation or examination made at an office or principal place of business
that is located outside this State.
2. In the discretion of the Commissioner, any books, accounts, papers, records and files of a place of business that is located outside this State may be electronically submitted to the Office of the Commissioner.
