Section 643.700 - Appeal of suspension or expulsion

1. A student who has been suspended or expelled from a barber school may appeal the action to the board by requesting an appeal by a letter to the secretary of the board within 10 days after the effective date of the action.

2. The board will schedule a hearing of an appeal within 30 days after receiving a request.

3. If the board finds that the suspension or expulsion was not justified, it will order the action reversed and the student returned to his course of study without prejudice.

4. The operator of a barber school who takes any action in retaliation against a student who has been returned to his course of study pursuant to this section is guilty of unprofessional conduct.
