Section 639.9425 - Written program for preventative maintenance of system

A pharmacy which uses a computerized system to fill prescriptions shall maintain a written program for preventative maintenance of the system which:

1. Documents the frequency of failures of the system, necessary repairs to the system, and equipment which is replaced;

2. Identifies electromechanical technicians or engineers who are assigned to the written program for preventative maintenance;

3. Describes the preventative measures established to maintain the written program for preventative maintenance; and

4. Requires the pharmacy to maintain all documentation relating to the written program for preventative maintenance for at least 2 years.
