Section 625A.080 - Requirements for renewal of standard registration; attestation of completion; exceptions

1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 2:

(a) Each environmental health specialist must complete 24 contact hours of continuing education approved by the Board that directly pertains to the practice of environmental health during the 2 years immediately preceding the date on which his or her application for renewal of a standard registration is submitted to the Board.

(b) Each environmental health specialist must submit to the Board with his or her application for renewal of a standard registration an attestation that he or she completed the contact hours of continuing education required pursuant to paragraph (a).

2. The requirement to complete continuing education does not apply to:

(a) The first renewal of a standard registration;

(b) An environmental health specialist who has received an exemption pursuant to NRS 625A.150;

(c) Except as otherwise provided in NAC 625A.048, an environmental health specialist whose registration is on inactive status;

(d) Except as otherwise provided in NAC 625A.046, a person who holds a temporary registration to practice environmental health issued by the Board pursuant to NRS 625A.112; or

(e) An environmental health specialist trainee.
