Chapter 504 - Wildlife Management and Propagation
PRESERVATION OF WILD HORSES
Section 504.805 - Grants of money to finance projects for preservation of wild horses

1. The Commission will authorize expenditures from the Heil Trust Fund for Wild Horses for grants of money to finance:
(a) Research into:
(1) The characteristics, health and patterns
of change of the population of wild horses in Nevada;
(2) The habitat of wild horses in Nevada,
including forage, water, shelter and the amount of living space needed;
and
(3) The elements and methods of
implementation of plans for the management of wild horses in Nevada in their
habitat, including the control and counting of the population, the monitoring
of the condition of wild horses and plans for their relocation.
(b) A project which informs the
public:
(1) Of the activities of the
Commission; and
(2) Concerning the
preservation and management of wild horses in Nevada, including the preparation
and distribution of publications, films and educational aids and the
presentation of informational and promotional events.
(c) A project for the preservation and
management of wild horses which directly benefits wild horses in Nevada in
their habitat including the improvement of the habitat, establishing a preserve
and creating a program using secret witnesses.
2. The Commission will not grant any money from the Heil Trust Fund for Wild Horses to any person opposed to or affiliated with any organization which is opposed to the preservation of wild horses.
