Section 484D.210 - Faults requiring removal of tire; tread-depth measurements

1. The outside diameters of tires used on dual wheels must be such that each tire will contact the level roadway at all times. A tire must be removed from service if it has:

(a) Any portion of the ply or cord structure exposed;

(b) Any bump, bulge or knot related to ply or tread separation or partial failure of the tire structure;

(c) A ply or cord break; or

(d) A cut which extends more than 1 inch in any direction on the outside of the tire and is deep enough to reach the body cords.

2. For the purposes of NAC 484D.190 to 484D.215, inclusive, tread-depth measurements must not be made where tiebars, wearbars, humps or fillets are located.
