Universal Citation: NV Admin Code 484D.120

Current through September 16, 2024

Any vehicle or device rejected with cause as a result of inspection by the vacuum power brake booster pedal drop test does not comply with brake standards established by NAC 484D.010 to 484D.120, inclusive. The test must be as follows:

1. With engine off, the service brake pedal is depressed several times to exhaust residual vacuum in booster.

2. The service brake pedal is then applied and held with a force of approximately 25 pounds.

3. The engine is started while the brake is applied and it is to be noted whether the service brake pedal moves downward slightly when the engine starts.

4. The power brake booster must be rejected if the service brake pedal does not move slightly as the engine is started while pressure is maintained on the pedal.
