Chapter 477 - State Fire Marshal
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

Every fire in a state-owned or state-occupied building or area of such a building must be reported immediately to the local fire department, which shall notify the State Fire Marshal of the fire as soon as practicable. A written report of the incident must be filed with the State Fire Marshal Division within 24 hours after the fire. The report must be filed by the state agency affected with the State Fire Marshal, 107 Jacobsen Way, Carson City, Nevada 89711.
3. Upon the failure of a smoke detector which is powered by a battery and installed in a state-owned or state-occupied building, the smoke detector must be replaced by a smoke detector which is connected to the wiring of the building and has a battery as a backup source of power.
4. A person who knowingly violates the provisions of this section is subject to prosecution for a misdemeanor in accordance with NRS 477.250.
