Radiation Safety Requirements for Particle Accelerators
Section 459.744 - Safety requirements: Generally; operation
Current through December 31, 2024
1. NAC 459.740 to 459.752, inclusive, establish radiation safety requirements for the use of particle accelerators. These provisions are in addition to, and not in substitution for, other applicable provisions of NAC 459.010 to 459.794, inclusive, and sections 4 to 28, inclusive,.
2. The registrant is responsible for ensuring that all requirements of NAC 459.740 to 459.752, inclusive, are met.
3. No registrant may permit any person to act as an operator of a particle accelerator until the person:
4. Members of the radiation safety committee or the radiation safety officer must have the authority to terminate the operations at a particle accelerator facility if such action is deemed necessary to protect health and minimize danger to public health and safety or property.
