Section 459.280 - Specific licenses: Incorporation of naturally occurring or accelerator-produced radioactive material into gas and aerosol detectors

An application for a specific license authorizing the incorporation of a naturally occurring or accelerator-produced radioactive material, other than source or by-product material, into gas and aerosol detectors to be distributed to persons exempt under NAC 459.192 will be approved if:

1. The application satisfies requirements equivalent to those contained in 10 C.F.R. § 32.26 of the regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and

2. The amount of radium 226 to be incorporated in each device does not exceed 0.1 microcurie (3.7 kilobecquerels).
